Join us as we celebrate the final days of summer here in West Michigan!
This week we rocked the park and Fifth Third Ballpark in Comstock Park. Here’s a peak at what took place!
Give a glove and make a difference! Starting Monday, May 4 you can donate new or gently used ball gloves to benefit the YMCA Inner City Youth Baseball and Softball Program. This program gives ball gloves and equiptment to those in need, so all children can enjoy the game of baseball this summer. You can drop off your glove at Fifth Third Ballpark, any Fifth Third Bank location or the YMCA. In exchange for your glove, you’ll recieve two free tickets to a West Michigan Whitecaps baseball game.
This week, we’ll show you how to make the most of your West Michigan spring break “staycation.”
The West Michigan Whitecaps are kicking off their 2009 season in just a few short days! If you’re looking for something to do during your spring break “staycation” think about heading over to Fifth Third Ballpark. Opening Day is Thursday, April 9 and the fun begins at 6:35pm. Best of all, tickets start at just $5!
Get their 2009 schedule, ticket information and more at www.whitecaps-baseball.com.
The American Academy of Pediatrics reports that overuse it to blame for up to half of all sports injuries in kids. That is why it is wise for kids to:
· Participate in a sport that emphasizes fun, safety, sportsmanship and learning skills.
· Join only one team per session.
· Take a break between seasons if they play multiple sports.
· Limit training in a single sport to no more than five days a week, giving kids at least one day off from any physical activity.
