Time Management Tips for Busy Parents

Juggling kids, work, and social committments can be overwhelming, especially if you’re not good at time management.  This week we introduced you to Judy Warmington and Treva Berends, two professional organizers from the Grand Rapids area.  Here are some of their tips that can help your family.

1.  Plan your day around what’s important.  Choose five things you must get done and if you accomplish more, it’s a bonus!

2.  Do as much prep work as you can the night before.  Pack lunches, set the table for breakfast, lay out your kids clothes.  This will save time the next day.

3.  Don’t think it….ink it.  Create a spot to write things down to eliminate mental clutter.  Often times this can happen at night, so leave a pad of paper and pen next to your bed.

4.  Involve the kids.  You don’t have to do everything yourself.  Teach kids age appropriate tasks and give them regular chores.  Create a chore chart and hang it in a spot where everyone can remember to check it.
