Literacy: Every library in the Grand Rapids Public Schools has been restocked with new books to meet national standards.  This totals 133,333 books!
           
The Arts: All children in grades 1 through 6 have an enriching community-based arts experience every school year.  All students also have the opportunity to participate in band or orchestra with use of a quality instrument.

Environmental Education: Every 3rd, 6th and 9th grade student in Grand Rapids Public Schools have a significant outdoor education experience at Blandford Nature Center each year.

Math/Science: Every high school student is given a TI-84 Plus graphing calculator so he/she can succeed in science and math courses and in the ACT test.

Physical Wellness: Youth attending Grand Rapids Public Schools have access to equipment and programs to support their physical wellness during their school years.

If you are looking for ways to support Easter Seals think about participating in their 5th Annual Walk with Me event.  The community walk takes place on Wednedsay, June 17 at 6:30pm at the John Ball Zoo in Grand Rapids.  Cost is $25 and includes a walk t-shirt, food, refreshments and a pass to the John Ball Zoo.
