Becoming a Bargain Hunter

Photo for 12-8-09 BlogNormally I wouldn’t consider myself a bargain shopper.  I have lots of girlfriends who save tons of money cliping coupons or making the garage sale rounds each summer, but for some reason I just can’t get into it.

Last week I was out running some errands and passed Once Upon A Child, a children’s consignment shop in Grand Rapids.  I wasn’t sure what quality of stuff I would find inside, but I decided to stop and check it out.  To my surprise I found some really cute stuff, many of it with the tags still on it.

Be an Angel this Christmas

One way you can give back this holiday is by participating in the Angel Tree Toy Drive.  There are many West Michigan families who have fallen on hard times and need assistance this season…..it’s not too late to help brighten a child’s day.  It’s as easy as purchasing a toy and delivering it to a drop-off location in your area.  Click here for more information on the campaign and a drop off location near you.

‘Where You Live’ – December 5, 2009

Take a look at some of the ways that West Michigan kids, families and companies are giving back to the community.

How can we make it easier to give back this holiday season?

iStock_000007182674XSmallPaying $2 for wearing jeans is a common practice at Priority Health.  And I don’t mind.  It’s always for a great cause. What impresses me most though, is that our jeans days are organized by a group of employees who put together fundraising events all year long. They go out of their way to put together bake sales, company photo contests, coat collections, online auctions and much more to give back to the community.  And why?  Because they are passionate about giving back to the communities, where they live and work.
