This week we visited The Boys & Girls Club of Grand Rapids Youth Commonwealth, a positive place for children ages 7-17 years old. For almost 70 years this youth center has been open afterschool, in the evenings and over the summer months for kids to hang out in a safe, encouraging environment.
With two teen centers in Grand Rapids and a summer camp in Alto, this is a great facility doing positive things for kids in West Michigan. For more information visit www.bgcgryc.org.
Looking for something to keep your family busy? Think about volunteering. This year the Fifth Third River Bank Run is looking for help in lots of different areas. From check-in assistance to serving refreshments, they can use your help!

Whether it’s a daycamp, a sports camp or an overnight camp, there are so many options out there for our kids. Spending time at a camp helps enrich our children’s lives in so many ways. It helps build character, gives them a sense of community and provides them with hands on learning experiences.
For a complete list of camps offered in your area, visit www.acacamps.org. Also, don’t forget to check out the contest/coupon section of our website. This week we’re offering discounts on Camp Henry, Detroit Lions Football Camp and a special giveaway from Ferris State University.
