Ten Costumes for Under $10
Halloween costumes don’t have to be expensive. Here are a six costumes ranging from free to $10 that won’t break the bank!
A Bunch of Grapes: $2
Items Needed:
-A purple sweatshirt
-A bag of purple balloons
-Safety pins
Directions: Using safety pins, attach the balloons all over the sweatshirt.
Static Cling: Free
Items Needed:
-Sweat suit
-Socks and a dryer sheet
-Safety pins
-Hair gel
Directions: Using safety pins, attach socks and dryer sheets to the sweat suit. Use hair gel to spike up your hair to resemble a static effect.
A Slice of Pizza: $10
-Tan colored felt fabric
-Velcro
-Bright colored fabric
Directions: Take the tan felt and cut into two triangle pieces. Glue fabric “toppings” to the top and use the Velcro to secure the sides and bottom together.
Pillsbury Doughboy: Free
-White sweat suit
-Homemade chef hat
-Wooden spoon
Directions: Simply make a white chef hat out of paper and grab a wooden spoon out of your kitchen.
A Set Table: Free
-Cardboard box
-Plastic tablecloth
-Plastic dishes
-Play food
Directions: Take the top of a cardboard box and cut a hold in it that will fit around your waist. Glue the plastic tablecloth to the top along with place settings and play food.
Miss America: $7
-Tulle fabric
-Fabric sash
-Paint
-Tiara
Directions: Wrap tulle around the waist as a skirt and then make a fabric sash and paint “Miss America” on it. Use a kids play tiara and add flowers for fun.
