Kentwood Cycling and Fitness
Whether you hit the locals trails or just ride around your neighborhood, cycling is a sport that is great for all ages. It’s good exercise and a chance to spend quality family time together. So, what do you need to get started? We went to the pros at Kentwood Cycling and Fitness to find out.
1. First and foremost you need safety gear. All riders should wear a bike helmet, even the kids in the bike seat or Burley. Make sure your helmet fits properly and is level on your head. The strap under your chin should fit snug and be two fingers width under your jaw line.
2. Second is bike accessories. Burleys and tag-a-longs are great accessories for the little ones who are still learning to ride. They keep everyone in the family involved, but allow for longer distance riding.
3. Most importantly are the bikes! Make sure that your bike has been properly fitted for your frame and has a tune up before you hit the road. Kentwood Cycling and Fitness has a great assortment of styles and selections for men, women and children.
Make sure you check out the contest section of www.marandatv.com. This week you can register to win a free Burley Cart Trailer and Trek Bike from Kentwood Cycling and Fitness. Plus, everyone can enjoy the 10% off downloadable coupon on their next purchase.
I’ve been a part of the WOOD TV8 team since 2005. As Special Projects Producer, I work side by side with Maranda making things happen behind the scenes. I coordinate Maranda’s Park Parties each summer and produce a variety of station broadcasts and events through out the year. I also serve as the producer of Maranda’s weekly half-hour show, Where You Live. I love the variety of my job and getting to be a part of the impact Maranda is making on kids in our community!
Outside of work, I've been married for seven years to my husband John and we have two beautiful daughters, Sophia and Stella. When I'm not busy trying to keep up with the kids, I spend "me time" reading fashion or celebrity magazines, sneaking in some good reality television, walking around Reeds Lake with girlfriends and exploring new restaurants with my hubby.
Inspirations for my blog come from my daily life as a busy working mom -- trying to juggle a full time job and be a full time mom to a spitfire five year old and a new baby.
